The organisation received the status of an executive partner of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
HIAS Ukraine established the Right to Protection Charitable Foundation as a separate, independent organisation.
The first area of activity of R2P was Assistance to Refugees and Asylum Seekers, launched from the moment of establishment of the HIAS office in Ukraine.
R2P launched the Assistance to Internally Displaced Persons and the War-Affected Population programme. The Foundation opened new offices in the East of Ukraine, monitored the protection of the rights of the affected population and provided legal assistance to the most affected communities in Donetsk, Luhansk, Dnipro and Kharkiv regions. The organisation had offices in Mariupol, Sievierodonetsk, and Sloviansk.
R2P launched the Assistance to Stateless Persons programme.
With the emergence of the Disaster Risk Reduction programme, the Foundation began to work on systematically preventing natural and anthropogenic emergencies to avoid forced displacement of the population in Ukraine.
The Strengthening of Resilience and Cohesion in Ukraine programme is also launching peacebuilding dialogues.
Starting from 24 February, after the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, R2P significantly expanded its activities with new programmes and new regions. The Foundation began to provide in-kind and social assistance, psychological support, and registration for cash aid from international organisations. It also launched a programme called Coordination and Management of Collective Centres (CCCM).
The Foundation launched the new Development of Practical Skills and Economic Inclusion of IDPs and War-Affected Population programme to help Ukrainians find employment, develop small businesses and improve society's financial situation.
R2P opened a Polish office in Warsaw to support our citizens displaced by the war. The Foundation began providing psychological and legal assistance and defending the rights of Ukrainians with temporary protection in Poland.
