Legal Aid to Refugees and Asylum Seekers

R2P provides the following legal aid:

• consultations on the procedure of stay of foreigners in Ukraine;
• applying for international protection in Ukraine; 
• appealing against refusals of the State Migration Service of Ukraine regarding refugee status;
• appealing against detention and placement in temporary accommodation centres for foreigners and stateless persons 
• appealing against administrative penalties, forced return and expulsion decisions, and extradition.

Strategic litigation is also one of the components of our activities. It includes the use of international human rights mechanisms, in particular, the ECHR, UN committees and special rapporteurs in the following areas:

• access to the procedure for granting international protection from places of deprivation of liberty;
• access to fundamental rights for refugees and asylum seekers;
• fair and impartial consideration of cases in court;
• compliance with the principle of non-refoulement.
