We had the honor to welcome EU Special Envoy for Ukrainians in the EU, Ylva Johansson, at the office of Right to Protection Poland in Warsaw, as part of her visit to Poland and meetings with civil society representatives.
During the discussion, our team presented not only the legal challenges that refugees and asylum-seekers are currently facing in Poland, but also how our work extends across borders. Right to Protection combines cross-border expertise from Poland and Ukraine, develops innovative approaches, and continuously adapts its programs to the realities, uncertainties, and barriers experienced by migrant and refugee communities.
What distinguishes our work is the direct interaction with beneficiaries – listening, monitoring, and adapting our protection and integration activities to ensure they remain practical, responsive, and impactful in a constantly changing environment.
We were pleased to engage in dialogue with all representatives present. Special thanks to our colleagues from UNHCR Poland for their introduction and for facilitating this important encounter.
This visit reaffirmed that interaction at the EU level is crucial for promoting good practices, effective advocacy, and sustainable solutions grounded in dignity and respect for human rights.
