The third phase of the Re:Match project, which builds on the experience of the previous phases by adding additional labour market criteria to the algorithm, has now concluded.
The project is aimed at supporting Ukrainian people seeking protection in the process of voluntary relocation from Poland to Germany, followed by integration into host communities.
Re:Match is an initiative that pilots a comprehensive, data-driven approach to relocation. The project uses a unique algorithm that takes participants’ preferences into account and matches them with the capacities and profiles of host cities for relocation.

Those wishing to participate in the programme must attend a mandatory information session, which provides detailed information about the project and the conditions for participation.
Specialists from Right to Protection Poland conduct interviews with participants, who share their needs and priorities. Participants provide relevant information about themselves, as well as about family members with whom they wish to relocate. At the same time, participating cities are asked about their capacities and needs.
Based on the information provided by participants and cities, the Re:Match algorithm identifies the most suitable option — a match. The result is shared with participants along with information about the selected city. The final decision on whether to accept the match remains with the participants.
After receiving the participants’ consent, the project team organizes the relocation, including helping to plan the journey and providing information about the city and local support services.
After arrival, local authorities provide guidance on registration and other documents so that participants can apply for temporary protection status, financial assistance, and support with their first steps in the new city.
