Right to Protection Poland and Re:Match Launches a Relocation Programme

May 8, 2024

Right to Protection Poland, in cooperation with Re:Match, is launching a relocation programme to Germany.

Re:Match is a programme for Ukrainians who are forced to seek temporary protection due to the war and are currently in Poland and are interested in moving to a German city. It is an innovative project that uses an algorithm to analyse preferences and select the best option.

The first informational meeting about the project took place online on 10 May.

Project participants must meet the following criteria:

  • They were forced to move to Poland due to the war in Ukraine.
  • They resided in Ukraine until 24 February 2022.
  • They and the family members with whom they want to move have a valid foreign passport or ID card (2015 version);
  • They have not applied for a temporary residence permit in Germany.
  • They do not bring a pet with them.

The main stages of the project:

  1. Interview in Poland — time to discuss your needs.
  2. Selection of a city in Germany that best suits the participant's needs.
  3. Moving in June/July 2024 — organisation and trip payment by the organisers.
