Today, we should already be thinking about bringing our people back to Ukraine and other alternatives to attract the workforce to us. After all, we will need staff to rebuild and develop after the war. We can involve in this process not only labour migrants but also refugees and stateless persons who have been living in our country for a long time and are looking for employment. The Ukrainian government should already be thinking about a migration policy that will include the rights of such persons and their integration and help resolve this issue.

Sofiia Kordonets, Head of the Assistance to Stateless Population in Ukraine programme direction of R2P, presented a study on migration policy in Ukraine regarding labour migrants, considering the prospects of post-war recovery, which R2P introduced at the end of 2023.

We were delighted to participate in this event and talk directly to business representatives and experts on this critical topic, which allowed us to identify the needs of businesses for employees and the challenges employers face. After all, labour shortages are an issue that is becoming more and more urgent every day. Therefore, it is crucial to take the first steps in this direction today to best prepare for all the challenges in the future and ensure the observance of the rights and integration of foreigners and stateless persons during their employment.
