The Right to Business: A Course for Entrepreneurs training programme (Kharkiv, Sumy, Chernihiv, Kyiv, and Zhytomyr)

For motivated small business owners whose enterprises have been affected by the full-scale invasion, those who are just looking to start their own company, or who fall under one of the vulnerability criteria:

  • internally displaced persons
  • persons with disabilities;
  • men/women raising children on their own;
  • ATO/war veterans who are no longer in the military.

The programme is being implemented in Kharkivska, Sumska, Chernihivska, Kyivska, and Zhytomyrska oblasts.

The training programme aims to provide knowledge and help strengthen entrepreneurial skills, from finding a business idea, establishing management and marketing to generating the first income. The best participants will received a grant of $3,000 or more to develop their own business!

The educational programme lasted from February to the end of April 2024.

The Right to Business: A Course for Entrepreneurs training programme (Kharkiv)

For people who currently live in Kharkiv, are engaged in small business or have suspended activities and closed their sole proprietorship due to the full-scale invasion. It is also for those who are preparing to start their own business right now.

The main topics of the course:

  • business planning
  • marketing
  • financial literacy.

The educational programme lasted from the beginning of September to the end of November 2023. The finalists received a $3,000 grant at the end of the course to develop their own business.

The project is implemented by Right to Protection within the framework of the Programme for Supporting the Economic Resilience of Ukraine with the financial support of Switzerland, provided through the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation.

The New Opportunities in a New Place: Important Skills for Employment and Financial Stability of IDPs training course (Dnipro)

For internally displaced persons living in Dnipro and wanting to develop the skills necessary for successful employment, financial stability, or business.

The main topics of the course:

  • soft skills
  • digital skills
  • financial literacy.

The educational programme lasted from the second half of July to the end of November 2023.

The project is implemented within the framework of the Development of Practical Skills and Economic Inclusion of IDPs and Affected Population programme, executed by Right to Protection with the support of the German government through the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
