Assistance to survivors of gender-based violence, including domestic violence.

Right to Protection's team provides comprehensive assistance to survivors of gender-based violence, including domestic violence.

Gender-based violence is an umbrella term that refers to any harmful act committed against a person's will and is based on socially assigned (gender) differences between men and women.

Domestic violence is a manifestation of physical, psychological, economic or sexual violence committed systematically and behind closed doors:

  • within the family;
  • within the place of residence;
  • between relatives, former or current spouses, or others living together in the same family (even if they are not related or married).

Pay attention if someone close to you:

  • constantly monitors your actions;
  • does not allow you to see and communicate with family and friends;
  • constantly accuses you of infidelity without any basis;
  • humiliates you (in private or in public);
  • threatens you or your children;
  • controls your money, gadgets, and personal belongings;
  • dictates how you should look;
  • inflicts physical pain;
  • forces you to have unwanted touching or sexual intercourse;
  • influences your aspirations for pregnancy, your desire to have/not have children;
  • commits sexual violence.

If you have witnessed or suffered from such actions, please get in touch with the Fund's specialists for advice!

Please remember!

No one has the right to humiliate or mistreat you. If this happens, it is not your fault. Such actions are subject to both administrative and criminal liability! Take care of yourself and seek help!
