Yuliia Novobranets Participated in the Heroes’ Backbone Professional Fundraisers’ Summit

September 12, 2024

Yuliia Novobranets, Director of Fundraising and Partnerships at the R2P, today took part in the Heroes’ Backbone Professional Fundraisers’ Summit. This is the second such Summit by ISAR Ednannia.

About a thousand representatives of charitable organisations and volunteer initiatives in Ukraine attended the event.

Yuliia spoke on the topic Leadership without Borders: How Local Initiatives Win Over Global Donors, particularly sharing her experience in fundraising and directly at Right to Protection. She emphasised that localisation makes it possible to provide assistance in a more efficient and timely manner.

Local organisations have a deeper understanding of the needs in real-time because we are in constant contact with the beneficiaries, work in the hromadas where we live, and speak the same language with the authorities and the population. In the localisation process, national and local NGOs are the ones who are localised when donors have the political will to do so. In local leadership, through active advocacy and protection of common interests on global platforms, taking the initiative and responsibility, we fight for the right to be included in decision-making processes.

We are grateful for the opportunity to join the Summit and share our experience with colleagues!
