December 13, 2024

"When people see that they are cared for, they feel they are in their place, among their own. This motivates them to work further," said Nadiya Kovalchuk, Programme Director of R2P, during her speech at the New Medicine — RAZOM: Partnership. Fundraising. Future International Conference, which took place on 11 December.

The event brought together representatives of medical institutions, the public and non-governmental sectors, and international donor organisations to share experiences, discuss future challenges, and formulate a strategy for the recovery and development of the Ukrainian healthcare sector.

Nadiya Kovalchuk spoke at the Burnout Prevention and Stress Management in the Workplace panel discussion.

We are based on values: humanity and human-centredness, both in relation to those who receive and provide assistance. And all decisions are made based on this. The people who work for the Fund are very important. Without them, there is no organisation. We are trying to create a safe environment inside, built on trust. If someone makes a mistake, it is primarily an experience for us, not a fatal situation. We work hard to ensure management shares and brings this to the teams. In addition, we have an internal psychological support programme for employees. We also have a complaint handling programme and an opportunity to turn to an internal mediator.

She emphasised that it is essential for each team member to have stable processes in place so that each employee understands how specific procedures work.

We are grateful to the hosts for participating in this conference, as it is valuable to hear about others' experiences and share our own.
