The monitors of the R2P are, without exaggeration, universal specialists. Every month we tell you about the most striking stories and events that happened to our colleagues in the monitoring service digest. Read on to find out what interesting things occurred in August.

Facilitating the integration of IDPs

During the meeting of the Coordination Council on IDPs in Chernivtsi, the Foundation's monitors initiated the creation of working groups on the IDPs' inclusion in the local Protection Program and on public transport. They developed the draft amendment to the local program and submitted it for discussion. The document waits for the CMA approval.

Emergency response

After the shelling of Chernihiv on August 19, the Foundation's staff was on duty at the headquarters of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration to help the rocket attack victims. Our colleagues also visited each flat in the buildings affected by the explosions, recorded information about the damage, and provided the residents with the necessary assistance.

We defend the interests of IDPs

The monitors of the Kyiv office helped an IDP whose house was damaged to file a claim for her destroyed property. The woman did not have a smartphone, so she could not do it herself. The local ASC initially refused to register her application due to technical difficulties in the system. However, after being accompanied by the Foundation's monitor and additional explanations, the ASC employees applied on behalf of the woman.

We continue to work on the topic of temporary housing

Monitors actively conduct educational activities in communities regarding temporary housing for IDPs. They organise events and seminars for local authorities with the participation of the Foundation's lawyers. Thus, in the Vinnytsia region, one more community adopted the Regulation on the Temporary Housing Fund and the procedure for forming a waiting list.

We promote employment

Lviv's office monitors and the local enterprise's representatives visit shelters. They tell IDPs about open vacancies and organise excursions to production facilities. Thus, right after the tour, two internally displaced women were immediately interested in possible employment and had interviews.
